I have worked in the mental health field for over 9 years, 5 years working as a Licensed Therapist. In this time, I have worked in Residential treatment, Day Treatment and Community Based settings working with adolescents and their families. I have extensive experience working with a variety of mental health issues and behavioral concerns.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed School Counselor in the state of Colorado. I received my undergraduate in Sociology/Criminology and Anthropology at Colorado State University-Pueblo in 2004. I later earned my Masters in School and Community Counseling in 2008 from the University of Phoenix.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which works on addressing trauma and extreme stress that interferes with an individual’s ability to process the trauma. I also have training in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), which teaches emotional regulation through coping skills and effective communication skills. I also do work with animal assisted therapy, and I have a Registered Therapy dog, named Motley.
I enjoy helping others work through life’s challenges and learn to live happy and fulfilling lives.
