I chose to work in the mental health profession many years ago after meeting more and more people who were not satisfied with their lives or who were suffering from their pasts. I made the decision that I wanted to gain the skills and knowledge to help these individuals to lead happy and healthy lives.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #5045) in the State of Colorado. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 1995, then returned to school in 2008 and received my Master’s in Community Counseling.
I have extensive training and experience working with trauma and attachement and recognize the importance of the therapeutic relationship and then working together to heal and lead happy, productive lives. I do not rely only on talk therapy as that is not the most effective way to work on trauma or highly emotional situations; I use a variety of therapeutic modalities to assist individuals in overcoming their past.
I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR),trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trained in Sand Play and have extensive training in attachment.
I look forward to continuing my work assisting individuals and their families to lead happy, healthy and productive lives. if you have any questions, or if you would like to schedule an appointment, please call me at 303-257-3746.
