Jessica Boettiger, LPC

Hi!

My name is Jessica Boettiger, and I am a licensed professional counselor at Reflective Wellness: Mind & Body.  Therapy is an adventure that requires courage to begin and to stick with, and I hope as your guide on that adventure, you will see what a truly amazing and resilient person you are!  I put a lot of emphasis on building a strong therapeutic relationship; it is so important that you trust the person guiding you through this process.  And while therapy can be quite serious, I like to remind my clients as well to be curious and open-minded, have fun, and keep a sense of humor.

I have experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, life transitions, identity development, and stress management. I am especially passionate about helping adolescents and young adults develop a strong sense of self that will guide them through life’s many challenges.  I use a client-centered, strengths-based approach to therapy, drawing from modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing, to help clients identify the changes they would like to see in their lives and begin addressing the thoughts and behaviors that have kept them stuck.  I often integrate art and play into therapy to help inspire clients to tap into their own creativity to initiate change in their lives.

I received my BA in Psychology from Argosy University and my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University.  I have previously worked in community-based programs and with a variety of populations, including adolescents involved in the juvenile justice system, children and families court-ordered to treatment through the Department of Human Services, and in residential, in-home, and school-based settings.  I have really enjoyed working with the adolescent population, developing art-based groups and helping teens explore their creativity, develop a strong sense of self, and prepare to transition into adulthood.  But most importantly, I am passionate about meeting another human where they are at, wherever that may be, so I look forward to walking alongside this path with you!

In my free time you can find me hanging out with my own teenagers and our two pugs, watching anime, drawing, reading, or just finding time to get outside and enjoy nature.
