Hello! My name is Win Winsor. I am Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addictions Counselor at Reflective Wellness: Mind & body. My focus is helping adolescents and adults who have been struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts and addiction problems
Info on modalities.
As a trained DBT therapistI am here to provide a safe space for you to process, vent and share your story. I focus on the concept of integration wherein the course of action is to differentiate and link different parts of a system to make the system stronger. What becomes linked are the brain, the mind, and interpersonal relationships. Together we will explore the nine domains of integration and determine what the best course of action will be. I will assist you in learning how to regulate and stay within your window of tolerance
My approach is to generate trust in our relationship through my ability too have presence, attuned communication, and create resonance in our relationship. I will utilize clinical interviews, collateral resources, and assessments to conceptualize and identify what is lacking in integration and then present the information to you to see what your thoughts and feelings are and determine what course of action you are comfortable in taking
As a therapist, teacher, and mentor, I am committed to teaching you the skills you need to feel positive about yourself and take back control of your life. I can teach you how to use mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. I will use top-down processing to address the thinking part of the brain and will use bottom up processing to address discomfort and dysregulation in the survival part of the brain along with the limbic (emotional) part
How I help
I provide a warm, nonjudgmental space for you to share your story. I value the importance of gaining coping strategies for you to utilize in achieving your goals. Everyone as inner strengths and during session I will encourage you to tap into yours to help overcome any obstacles. No one client is the same and therefore we will collaborate on what might work best for you.
